Role Summary/Purpose
GE Healthcare, a leading global health technology provider's center of excellence for wearable patient monitoring is in Helsinki. We are looking for a Wireless Test Engineer, to be responsible for hands on testing product performance and reliability on RF level, but also on wireless protocol level during R&D phase as part of bigger wireless team. You will be at the core of our mission to create advanced and reliable body-worn wireless sensors for a novel patient monitoring system.
Essential Responsibilities
· Tests and reporting RF and Wireless protocol product performance and reliability according to commonly developed and agreed test plans
· Identifying and planning further test cases which stress wireless performance to the limit against targeted use cases. Analyzing root causes for failure with the team
· Implementing new test cases within test development frameworks
· Developing, maintaining and validating test frameworks on RF building block, hardware and wireless signaling level
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Radio Technology, Communications Engineering, or equivalent
· Several year experience on testing performance of products RF building blocks and in using related RF measurement equipment and test facilities
· Several year experience in measuring RF indoor propagation performance and characteristics. Understanding of common problems and challenges
· Several year experience in measuring performance of wireless communication protocols. Understanding of common problems and challenges
· Several year experience in automated controls of measurement equipment and in test case automation
· Experience with Linux and shell scripting and automation of shell tasks
· Understanding of LAN/WLAN network elements. Basic knowledge of IP networks maintenance and configurations
· Understanding of network protocols like WLAN and Bluetooth
· Open and curious mindset willing to approach cutting-edge technology challenges
· Team player attitude and good collaboration skills
· Excellent problem-solving skills and willingness to investigate one step deeper
· Proficiency in English, both spoken and written
· EU work permit
Desired Characteristics
· Understanding and experience in wireless regulatory certifications and related wireless testing
· Understanding on cellular networks and user equipment defined by 3GPP
· Experience or willingness to learn with Python and test frame Robot Framework
· Experience on LabView test automation
· Experience with concept like unit testing, integration testing, and functional testing
· Willingness to learn SW framework tool (Git, Gerrit, Jenkins)
