Role Summary/Purpose

Production of welds certifiable to ASME & TUV Codes on all cryostat vessel components and sub-assemblies.
Essential Responsibilities

1. Meet assembly time requirements consistently
2. Must be able to work in close conjunction with others & communicate well within a team environment to complete a quality product.
3. Must support & participate in all team activities.
4. On time completion of all quality, compliance, EHS and other required skills trainings.
5. Perform structural & leak tight welding on aluminum, carbon & stainless-steel material w/manual tools and/or automated tools or processes on all component part configurations including, but not limited, to helium vessels, vacuum vessels, plumbing & instrumentation tubes.
6. All welds must conform to ASME or both ASME & TUV Codes.
7. Responsible for insuring all documentation (drawing, methods & procedures) are complete & at the workstation.
8. Knowledge and understanding of production process, work instructions, documentation configuration control, non-conforming & rework documentation requirements and operates within them to ensure that a device conforms to its specification
9. Perform disassembly as required when product is non-conforming
10. Ability to build rapport within the immediate team and with the broader organization
11. Aware of and comply with Stop Order, Concessions, Calibration, Preventive Maintenance, Material Identification & Segregation, and Good Documentation Practices, as associated with this position
12. Maintain partnerships in job function and with assembly, materials and test teams across the manufacturing operations and across all shifts
13. Ability to acquire TUV certification & Level I Dye Pen Certification.

4. Knowledge and understanding of production process, work instructions, documentation configuration control, non-conforming & rework documentation requirements and operates within them to ensure that a device conforms to its specification
5. Aware of and comply with Stop Order, Concessions, ESD, Calibration, Preventative Maintenance, Material Identification & Segregation, and Good Documentation Practices, as associated with this job type/position
Qualifications/Requirements

1. A.S. Degree in Welding Technology or 2+ years MIG/TIG Welding Experience OR MIG/TIG Certificate OR High school diploma or local equivalent AND graduate of accredited welding program OR High school diploma or local equivalent AND a minimum of 3 years industrial, construction or similar commercial or manufacturing welding experience
2. Willingness to participate in pre-welding quality skills test
3. Experience with weld robots
4. Ability to use test equipment such as ohm meters and ATEs
5. Proficient with hand tools such as, but not limited to, saw, screwdriver, wrench, ratchets
6. High degree of comfort using computers and software tools to include, but not limited to, Windows, Outlook & Microsoft Office Suite
7. High degree of comfort using electronic manufacturing/production systems and tools such as eNDON, eDHR, Trello
8. Team player who is accountable for team’s success delivering business targets and takes responsibility for decisions and outcomes
9. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to give and receive feedback in a healthy and constructive way
10. Excellent interpersonal skills
11. Willingness to work overtime if needed
Desired Characteristics

1. Two-year technical or Trade School Degree from an accredited college, university or trade school
2. B.S. Degree in Welding Technology
3. ASME Code Certification
4. TUV code certification
5. Level I Dye Pen certification
6. 5+ years prior welding experience
7. Accomplished skills in their trade with experience in cryostat vessel components and sub-assemblies
8. Willingness and ability to work flexible hours/shifts
9. Willingness to learn new skills and perform a variety of tasks and roles within the manufacturing process and teach and coach others
10. Willingness to travel domestically if needed
