Role Summary/Purpose
The System Test & Validation Engineer will work in new product development and existing product sustaining/support as part of an agile team. The System Test & Validation Engineer is expected to develop robust test solutions in short-cycle design environments, leveraging existing technologies, promoting standardization, reliability and process efficiency.
Essential Responsibilities
The System Test & Validation Engineer is involved in all aspects of product development ranging from system-level design and requirements analysis, through prototype generation and testing, to final design validation and documentation. The System Test & Validation Engineer will also work with the Systems Engineers on Verification and Validation of requirements.
In the role of System Test and Validation Engineer, you will:
· Develop robust test automation systems integrating hardware, firmware and software
· Develop and run automatic as well as manual testing processes and procedures
· Work with sustaining and New Product Engineering teams in development and execution of testing plans
· Work with and coordinate validation testing procedures with remote engineering teams
· Reduce risk and promote sustainability by utilizing and driving standardization
· Understand products from customer’s perspective and test accordingly
· Drive quality into the development process, through analysis and feedback of testing results, working directly with the design teams
· Perform Verification and Validation of solution (and lower level) requirements within the Requirements Management tool, creating validation plans and test criteria
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
· Minimum 1 year experience using C / C++ / C# programming language (school project work is acceptable)

· Experience using hardware debugging tools; oscilloscopes, multi-meters, function generators, etc.
· Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex ideas to various audiences
· Demonstrated ability to identify and drive process improvements
· Demonstrated skills in problem solving
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Fast learner with energy and enthusiasm
· Knowledge and or working experience of the AGILE development process
· Experience in verification and validation of requirements
· Green Belt certified and DFSS trained (GE Employees Only)
