Role Summary/Purpose

This role is responsible for driving product quality for our customers and optimized Cost of Quality for GEHC. This is a key technical position, affecting product quality for both installed base and new product introductions, by driving supplier capability assessment and development along with a robust hand-off between GEHC engineering and our suppliers.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Effectively assess and evaluate supplier capabilities as an enabler for supplier selection process
·  Improve supplier quality performance for assigned suppliers/parts via implementation of a robust Quality Planning process
·  Develop positive relationships and work closely with Global Sourcing Leaders, Modality Sourcing Leaders, and Product Sourcing Leaders to manage and implement supplier/engineering changes, New Product Introductions, and transfers
·  Interface with Suppliers, Engineering, Service, Manufacturing and Sourcing to drive quality improvements that minimize the Costs of Quality, specifically Failed on Arrival/Install (FOA/FOI) issues, Field Failures, and Factory defects
·  Assure Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans are developed and executed at assigned suppliers using the methodologies of, and in compliance with, the CAPA process
·  Responsible for leading root cause investigations and corrective actions to resolve supplier quality related issues
·  Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external interfaces (engineering, service, manufacturing, sourcing, supplier quality, suppliers)
·  Influence product design specifications, and ensure that customer requirements are understood and achieved
·  Availability and willingness to travel up to 40% of the time (as required)
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in an engineering discipline
·  Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing, design, quality assurance or regulatory assurance
·  Minimum 3 years’ experience in the display technologies (LCD, Touch Sensor, or OLED), materials and process
·  Minimum 3 years’ experience in problem solving/root-cause analytical skills to lead and influence others to drive change (cross-functionally and globally)
·  Minimum 2 years’ experience with demonstrated knowledge of Quality Management System tools, continuous improvement methodologies and in-depth understanding of site level products and related processes
·  Fluent in communicating in English (both written and verbal)
Desired Characteristics

·  Two or more years of experience, with proven leadership, in design or manufacturing, including use of DFx tools (Design for Manufacture, Design for Assembly, Design for Reliability, Design for Test)
·  Two or more years of experience, with proven leadership, in display/UI engineering Research & Development
·  Two or more years of experience with proven leadership, in a quality role, with understanding of QMS implementation
·  Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
·  Familiarity with various engineering areas of technology, such as, but not limited to: Electronics, Plastics, Cable & Harness, Fab & Machine, Power Supplies & Power Distribution, Batteries, HLA’s, or OEM (Process & Design capability)
·  Demonstrated collaboration, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
·  Familiarity with the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) framework and/or the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) cycle
·  Fluent in English & Spanish
