Role Summary/Purpose

In this role, you will have the opportunity to help lay the foundation for our next generation of scanners based on the latest technologies. Essential Responsibilities

In this role you will:
1. Manage design evolution across multi-generation product releases
2. Leverage technical and clinical depth to work on business initiatives aimed at innovation and quality excellence
3. Develop User Interface technology roadmaps applying in-depth knowledge of product related technologies, technology platforms, architectures and engineering design principles
4. Lead the UI technical teams through the entire design cycle including requirements generation, design and implementation, verification & validation as the key technical mentor
5. Expect top tier quality from yourself and your peers
6. Collaborate with other architects to advance the state of the art in areas including, but not limited to:
a. User Interface and modern user workflow
b. State machine design for controlling the scanner
c. Patient and prescription data management
7. Drive continuous process improvement
8. Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, Refactoring and Testing Techniques
Qualifications/Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
2. 8+ years of experience in object-oriented design and programming in a production software environment
3. Technical leadership experience with a product-focused engineering team
4. Expert-level knowledge of developing and designing Single Page Applications using MVC architecture
5. Expert-level knowledge of web technologies such as Angular, JavaScript, jQuery, NodeJS, HTML
6. Expert-level knowledge of web designing using CSS, LESS, Bootstrap, Animations
7. Expert-level knowledge of designing locale-based applications
8. Good knowledge of ECMA Scripts (ES6 and above)
9. Good knowledge of developing REST based API using Node JS and express
10. Experience with Software development life cycle and product delivery as applicable to the medical device industry
11. Experience in design and development of software architecture using established design patterns
12. Experience with unit testing and continuous integration using Jasmine/Karma/Mocha/Chai and Cucumber/Protractor
13. Experience with configuration management and software build
14. Strong problem-solving abilities

Desired Characteristics

1. Master’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
2. Technical leadership experience and strong understanding of algorithms, scalability and fault tolerance in product software
3. Experience with agile principles and methodologies
4. Experience with defensive programming (secure by design)
5. Experience with automated testing and code analysis
6. Experience publishing and consuming web services and RESTful APIs
7. Familiarity with Linux
8. Specific skills/tools: JavaScript, Angular, Jasmine, Cucumber, Node.js, Spring framework, RESTful,Web Services, Gradle, Jenkins, Perforce, Git, TDD, BDD, UML
