Role Summary/Purpose

The Staff Analytics Software Delivery Engineer will be responsible for delivering new, commercially re-usable analytics solutions (Analytic Blueprint Packages) to drive growth in asset, application and industry coverage supportable product support teams (Software As A Service model). You will leverage standard suite of platform and core module analytics & algorithms, software application capabilities, strong engineering & analytics backgrounds.
Essential Responsibilities

You will engage key technical & subject matter experts (SMEs) across the business for knowledge capture into the solutions. You will also provide core product requirements to Product Management, Software Engineering and UX Design teams.

As a Staff Analytics Software Delivery Engineer, you will be responsible for acting as a tech lead, programing a component, feature and or feature set. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business. You will also contribute to design discussions.

In the role of Staff Analytics Software Delivery Engineer, you will:

·  Capture analytics product system level requirements by brainstorming with Architects, Data Scientists, Businesses & Product Managers

·  Translate analytics product requirements / vision into prioritized list of user stories and deliver to required timelines and quality standards

·  Translate analytics functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design

·  Be responsible for providing technical leadership and defining, developing, and evolving analytics software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure

·  Design, review, develop, maintain and support analytics software applications

·  Lead the team to code and test complex analytics delivery system components

·  Lead code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards

·  Working with other teams to deliver and operate large scale, distributed analytics services in the cloud

·  Overall analytics delivery system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance

·  Articulate the need for scalability, assessing application performance and optimizing / improving it through design and best coding practices

·  Mentor other analytics delivery software engineers, defining our challenging technical culture, and helping to build a fast-growing team

·  Proactively share information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) from an accredited college or university

·  Minimum 5 years of experience as full stack engineer OR completion of a GE Leadership Program with 2 years of experience as full stack engineer

Eligibility Requirements:

·  Travel 10% of the time, as required
Desired Characteristics

·  Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) from an accredited college or university

·  PHD in Computer Science or a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) from an accredited college or university

·  Strong hands-on experience with analytics product development and deployment

·  Strong hands-on experience with Java / C++ and Python

·  Strong hands-on experience with GCP / AWS / Azure and Infrastructure as code capabilities

·  Strong hands-on experience with backend web technologies in databases, caching, and scaling.

·  Strong experience with frontend web technologies, including Angular, Node.js, HTML5 and CSS3

·  Experience with leading a scrum team to design, review, develop and support software applications

·  Experience with big data and analytics delivery product including but not limited to Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Cassandra and NoSQL databases

·  Hands-on experience with Go, Scala is desired

·  Experience with machine learning models, platforms and search engines is a big plus

·  Experience with system architecture design for optimal scalability, reliability and performance is desired

·  Experience working on software projects in the Energy domain (Energy Management, Oil & Gas, Power & Water) is a plus

·  Certified Scrum Master and/or Product Owner
