Role Summary/Purpose

The Sr Staff Infrastructure Architect would lead the architecture, design, development, deployment and support (i.e. DevOps) of our Data & Analytics Cloud infrastructure, network, automation & services that are used to build/manage infrastructure/applications on “Big Data” technologies (HVR, Talend, Greenplum, Hadoop, EMR, Spark, etc) in a cloud landing zone. This role will aim to provide next-gen high-performance, scalable, secure, & resilient systems and network in Cloud.
Essential Responsibilities

·  In this role, you will create, drive, and execute the strategy for Cloud Architecture of Big Data components in the Cloud.

·  Lead Architecture and Support of all Big Data Components in the Cloud preferably using native AWS Services.

·  Vet out new services of AWS and other cutting-edge technologies that are needed to implement a highly robust Big Data infrastructure and Platform for GE.

·  Design all Big Data components “As a Service” to enable adoption of self-service and DevOps for customers while ensuring appropriate security, access and guardrails.

·  Lead, coach and mentor Solution Architects and Platform Architects in executing the Cloud Architecture and Automations to build a resilient, powerful and scalable and secure Big Data Platforms for GE.

·  Input design, build and maintain to support cloud automation delivery.

·  Installation, configuration and provide troubleshooting help to build and support teams on Operating systems and Networks.
Partner with both core infrastructure (Coretech/Public Cloud) and Big Data across BUs teams on specific requirements and drive one common process.

·  Collaborate with colleagues across Cloud Infrastructure teams to help facilitate innovative solutions.

·  Coordinate with security and Public Cloud teams to provide a robust infrastructure platform.

·  Evaluate emerging technologies for feasibility and integration analysis.

·  Actively communicate progress against goals.
Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

·  Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent (STEM) with 3-4 years of experience in infrastructure and network architecture.

·  A minimum of 10 years of AWS Cloud experience is required with proven capabilities with AWS Console & native service, AWS Cloud Formation Templates, AWS API and CLI.

Eligibility Requirements:

·  Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job

·  Must be willing to work out of a location based in the United States
Desired Characteristics

·  Linux and Windows Systems Administration (RHEL/OEL/Ubuntu/Windows Server).

·  Knowledge of AWS Data Platforms (Kinesis, Data Pipeline, Lambda, Redshift, RDS, etc).

·  Strong infrastructure automation skills in multiple programming languages (Ruby/Python preferred).

·  Certification(s) in AWS is preferred.

·  Orchestration and Configuration Management tools (Puppet, Chef, etc).

·  Familiarity with Big Data tools and platforms (Hadoop, Greenplum, HVR, Casandra, etc.).

·  Familiarity with HVR, Talend, and other ETL transport tools.

·  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences.

·  Demonstrated customer focus.

·  Demonstrated commitment to quality and delivering complete solutions that solve business problems or deliver our strategy.
