Role Summary/Purpose

The GE Healthcare AV System/Deployment team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to be part of our exciting journey develop, build, maintain, deploy product platform and tools for market leading medical visualization products. You will be responsible for designing and programming a set of features, tools and you will own the technical deliverables of the team and work closely with architects and management.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Drive breaking down problems, clarify requirements and estimate time for development tasks 
·  Drive design reviews, define interfaces between code modules and apply existing technology to designs 
·  Providing oversight and mentoring team members, explain best practices and technical concepts 
·  articulate the need for scalability and stand for the importance of improving quality through auto-testing  
·  Demonstrate the ability to make informed technology choices after due diligence and impact assessment 
·  Work with development teams to add product enhancements related to modernization, considering flexibility and sustainability 

·  Reviewing, classifying and evaluating all risks, defects which is related to product and platform  
·  Ensuring documentation integrity and quality for the program area 
·  Interact with other development teams in a global context (US, France) 
·  Works independently 
·  Share knowledge and best practices within team, educating junior colleagues
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) 
·  Strong experience in software development and tool/service development (relevant work experience) 
·  Good knowledge of Linux system 
·  Good knowledge of source code and artifact repositories (Git, GitHub, Nexus and/or similar tools) 
·  Strong experience in Java language and experience / openness to use others like Python, Go 
·  Skilled in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project 
·  Skilled in breaking down problems and documenting problem statements 
·  Has the ability to analyze and evaluate impact of changes, defects and different technology choices 
·  Cloud experience is a plus (AWS, Azure, GCP…) 
·  Familiar with containerization and Kubernetes is a plus 
·  PostgreSQL and MongoDB experience is advantage 
·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
