Role Summary/Purpose

As a Sr Analytics Software UX Design Researcher, you will take the lead role of design, bridge the gap between Design and Technology. You understand the importance of human-centered design and the implication of technology on experiences and will contribute to multiple small to medium sized projects as an individual contributor with a focus on at least one specialized technology domain.
Essential Responsibilities

In the role of Sr Analytics Software UX Design Researcher, you will:

·  Translate analytics into actionable outcome through innovative UX design

·  Contribute to the discovery, execution, analysis, and synthesis of analytics product user research

·  Advocate for analytics product user experience design and help champion buy in from stakeholders and businesses

·  Guide effective documentation and communication of analytics product UX design - via wireframes, mockups, prototypes and user stories

·  Leads research and evaluation of emerging design, technology, industry, and market trend

·  Lead and influence business-wide discussions relative to current analytics product user experience projects and the future direction of design and user experience

·  Proactively share information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Interaction, Graphic, Industrial Design or a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) from an accredited college or university

·  Minimum 3 years of experience as an UX designer OR completion of a GE Leadership Program

Eligibility Requirements:

·  Travel 10% of the time, as required
Desired Characteristics

·  Master’s Degree in Interaction, Graphic, Industrial Design or a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) from an accredited college or university

·  PHD in in Interaction, Graphic, Industrial Design or a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) from an accredited college or university

Technical Expertise:

·  Hands-on experience with highly interactive UX design

·  Experience working with UI teams developing in Polymer, Angular, and Swirl

·  Experience annotated prototypes or wireframes of user interface designs that visually and

·  Skilled in standard design & wireframing tools (Adobe CC, OmniGraffle, Sketch), hand drawing and visual communication, time-based and interactive prototyping tools (Hype, Adobe Edge, Keynote)

·  Experience with machine learning models, platforms and search engines is desired

·  Experience with generative techniques (sketching, brainstorming, etc.) to establish a variety of possible design decisions and decision scenarios

·  Effective communication of UX and design concepts to collaborators on cross functional teams.

·  Experience working on software UX design in the Energy domain (Energy Management, Oil & Gas, Power & Water) is a plus

·  Certified Scrum Master and/or Product Owner

·  Knows key cross-functional concepts that impact the company, business priorities, & organizational dynamics

·  Keeps current on industry landscape and brings new ideas to the team. Maps industry trends to internal vision

·  Joins and participates in industry associations and conferences

·  Explain to various stakeholders through the design thinking process to frame a project and creates artifacts to facilitate shared understanding of business benefit

·  Understands key principles of design thinking and research, what it is and why it is important. Explores all ideas, regardless of their source

·  Understands that designing, validating, developing and deploying products and services for infrastructure-level domains requires attention to complexities between systems

Leadership:

·  Ability to takes ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members

·  Ensures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale. Able to speak to mutual needs and win-win solutions. Uses two-way communication to influence outcomes and ongoing results

·  Identifies misalignments with goals, objectives, and work direction against the organizational strategy. Makes suggestions to course correct

·  Continuously measures deliverables of self and team against scheduled commitments. Effectively balances different, competing objectives
