Role Summary/Purpose

GE Aviation’s technical Co-op’s / Interns gain broad exposure to varied areas of the Aviation software and avionics systems business.

Experienced managers mentor co-op / Intern contributions and development during their assignments. Student’s build leadership and functional skills through structured hands-on experience and training that complements challenging work assignments.
Essential Responsibilities

At GE Aviation we develop engine controls and the following avionics products: Navigation & Guidance systems, Vehicle Health & Data Management systems, Mission systems, Avionics Computing systems and Platform Systems Integration. Each Software Intern assignment is unique and depends on current business needs. Intern assignments can include the following:

·  Design / Development engineering including software requirements, design, analysis and development

·  Testing / Verification engineering including software testing, simulation, traceability and documentation

·  Process Improvement engineering including tool development and procedure simplification

·  Product / Program Support

Locations include:
·  Cincinnati, OH | Clearwater, FL | Grand Rapids, MI | Lynn, MA
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA (without rounding)

·  Meet degree requirements in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering

·  Attending a full time matriculated and nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate program

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :

• Completed one full year of college (rising Sophomore)
• Dependable transportation to / from work
• Willingness and ability to work in any of the 40+ GE Aviation US locations
• Willingness and ability to work multiple rotations during your college years – minimum of 2 rotations required
• Due to access to export controlled information, you must be one of the following: Be a US Citizen or national; US permanent resident; Person granted refugee status; Person granted asylee status or Beneficiary of legalization through an amnesty program, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))
