Role Summary/Purpose
Applications are invited for the permanent position of Repair/Calibration Technician with GE Sensing EMEA, Shannon. The successful candidate will be self-motivated & reactive, working to meet production deadlines whilst also working with other departments. Primary functions will be product testing and troubleshooting for electrical/electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies, faultfinding, repair, installation/set-up of test stations & other projects required by the company.
Essential Responsibilities
• Assembly, test and Calibration of electro-mechanical assemblies within the complete product range manufactured with the aid of diagrams, schematics, sketches, Bills of Materials or detailed verbal instructions with minimum supervision.
• Troubleshoot, fault find and repair of product and customer repair units with detailed reports.
• Solder Skills essential.
• Perform general assembly tasks with use of mechanical tools and/or proprietary equipment
• Assist in the creation of new documentation and fixtures.
• Assist in the training of new technicians, as needed.
• Ensure personal compliance of ESD policies
• Participate proactively in internal audit’s and LEAN programs
• Ensuring commitment and compliance with GE Quality policy & procedures with strong focus on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications/Requirements
• Recognized third-level qualification in Electrical/Electronic Technician or Proven technical work experience in a related environment with track record in process improvement and process establishment
• Ability to use test equipment such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and frequency counters
• Strong background in understanding of engineering drawings, schematics, bills of materials and test procedures
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task, strong team player, self-motivated and work on own initiative.
• Strong computer skills including MS Word and Excel, experience with Oracle an advantage.
• Soldering experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
