Role Summary/Purpose

In the role of Quality Control Technician – Mechanical, you will:
Essential Responsibilities

·  Perform mechanical and visual inspections of incoming materials

·  Record in the established business system(s), the status of the inspection of all assigned parts

·  Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects

·  Interface with all internal and external Customers and Suppliers, including Source Inspectors

·  Ensure product quality, workmanship, and conformance to all applicable processes, requirements, and regulatory standards in accordance with the established Quality Assurance System

·  Be able to work with minimal supervision
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university (High School / GED from an accredited school or institution with a minimum 3 year of experience in inspection, examination, and/or testing activities)

·  Minimum 1 year of experience in inspection, examination, and/or testing activities

Eligibility Requirements:

·  Candidate must pass both the written and hands-on Level 2 Mechanical Inspection exam: includes general measurement procedures, sampling techniques, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and usage of measuring tools

·  Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required

·  Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities

·  Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required

·  Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

·  Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
Desired Characteristics

·  Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft applications and SAP

·  Ability to understand non-standard jobs, such as a repair or New Product Introductions (NPI)

·  Demonstrated leadership capabilities

·  Machining experience

·  Previous experience and/or demonstrated ability to inspect metal and ceramic parts (Desire)

·  Previous experience with precision measurement tools and instruments (Desire)

·  Previous experience in the use of microscopes, precision gauges, thread gages, and jigs (Desire)

·  Previous experience with mechanical testing equipment (Desire)

·  Interpretation and application of drawings: GD & T standards, procedures and specifications (Desire)

·  Ability to plan and set up inspections, evaluations and tests with related equipment (Desire)

·  Ability to train others, work with minimal supervision, and develop procedures(Desire)
