Role Summary/Purpose

The Project Quality Engineer must ensure that customer requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle, from inquiry to delivery
Essential Responsibilities

Sales Hand-Over: Support upon request- analyse and verify the Customer Quality (included in the tender or from other possible sources), participate on the hand-over meetings from sales to the project execution team where necessary; ensure that the hand over process is followed.

Project start up: Analyse the contract to determine all Quality and certification requirements, prepare any specific process and documents as required by the contract, participate in the internal Kick-off meeting with the core team, present the Quality and EHS requirements for the contract process, Management system & Procedures: Provide regular feedback to Project Quality Manager, Monitor Supply Chain and participate in review of quality assurance documentation and records, ensure that traceability of reviews and project team meetings (minutes, actions) are stored appropriately, identify the legal QEHS requirements applicable to the contract; get the local requirements from the end user of the delivered project if necessary, Establish and Quality Assurance Plan for projects, Create/ manage Inspection & Test Programme for contract.

Assist with preparation and participation of project phase reviews. Ensure that project related concept/design/system reviews are carried out and the identified corrective/preventive actions.

Customer: Establish forecast list for customer witness points, manage customer witness points, and coordinate with all parties involved. Accompany customer and third parties at witness inspection.

Review quality records for Customer End of Manufacturing Report. Issue the project specific "End of Manufacturing Report"

Construction and Commissioning (if contractually necessary)-Support Erection & Commissioning Project team as requested.

Claim Management- Check NCR cost categories and initiate and support claim against customer and suppliers.

Process NCR's, requesting customer concession, if appropriate.

Establish and maintain key KPI’s in-line with Project Quality Objectives

Facilitate and attend continuous improvement events.
Qualifications/Requirements

Educational Requirements
Mandatory
• Technician qualification in Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent knowledge and experience

Optional
• Quality control qualifications or membership of Quality Institute

Experience
Mandatory
• Experience working in heavy industrial, low volume manufacturing, preferably with turbomachinery products
• Understanding of ISO 9001
• Experience with Project Quality Control techniques
• English fluent

Optional
• Experience with UK defence standards
• Experience of Problem Solving Techniques and tools
• Lean Six Sigma practitioner
• Additional languages an advantage
