Role Summary/Purpose

Reporting to Dowty Planning Leader the Production Control role is the key link between planning and operations teams, ensuring that the plan agreed at the Sales and Operations planning is fulfilled in a timely and efficient manner.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Drive Production Plan – Convert MPS into weekly/daily schedule/plan for shop floor. Work with central planning & operation teams to coordinate planning and scheduling activities for production

·  Work closely with Planning & Fulfilment to understand priorities/timelines. Monitor production performance to the plan, take pro-active actions to solve problems and mitigate risk in meeting the plan

·  Timely release of work orders (MHS) & kits to the shop

·  Liaise with source fulfilment to ensure timely arrival of raw materials. Raise raw material issues which would prevent plan being met – monitor shortages / sub con and investigate root causes of shortages for the area. Implement & monitor corrective actions plans

·  Work with outside vendors to ensure all outside operations are shipped out, tracked and received back on time.

·  Prepare dashboards to report on production performance which reflect output and delinquencies against targets

·  Co-ordinate with Logistics site goods in/stores & despatch processes

·  Manage inventory levels and accuracy – reduce excess, increase turns, stock takes

·  Effectively implement / maintain Kanban systems

·  Maintain Integrity of system (Syteline)
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor degree from an accredited university or college (or equivalent)

·  Proven experience in a manufacturing supply chain position

·  Strong problem solving and analytical skills

·  Experience with ERP systems (preferably Syteline)

·  Experience in the materials function (Sourcing, Planning, Fulfilment)

·  Strong oral and written communication skills

·  Strong interpersonal skills

·  Ability to effectively interface with all levels of the business

·  Flexibility, self-motivation and a can-do attitude are essential

·  A strong team player – able to work to tight deadlines in a busy environment

·  Problem solve and identify process improvements
