Job Description Summary

This role is a critical position in leading strategic direction for military Advanced and Special Access Programs within GE Aviation Digital Technologies. Responsible for operating in lock-step with product management teams to create a clear strategic roadmap for program digital requirements and conveys that vision to the the Secure Digital Solutions team to provide solutions for the customer.

Job Description

In this role, you will:

• Serve as a strategic leader within the Edison Works Digital Technology organization to develop a clear and descriptive set of requirements. Partner with the team to determine what can be delivered through balancing the need for new features, defects, and technical opportunities.

• Prioritize and ensure the seamless integration and alignment of perspectives from a broad set of stakeholders: Business Program Managers, Technical Product Managers, Information Assurance and Security Teams, internal and external customers as well as organizational leaders.

• Work to define and document the requirements of our internal and external customers and develop standardized data solutions to meet those needs.

• Demonstrate superior product and industry knowledge and helps organization to gain the competitive edge.

• Works with cross-functional teams to deliver features on major, complex products. Routinely collaborates with UX, Architecture and engineering teams on multiple issues and decisions.

• Possesses a deep understanding of the technology stack and impact on final product.

• Conducts customer and stakeholder interviews and elaborates on personas.

• Demonstrates expert persuasion and influencing skills that ensure alignment between customer, product manager and engineering teams.

• Demonstrates strategic expert level skills in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity.

• Removes barriers and constraints that block the creativity of self & others (e.g.creates open idea forums, solicits new processes, etc.).Inspires continuous learning and stimulation of thought. Champions progression of ideas to solutions through simplicity and speed.

• Decision Making & Risk Management - Participates in the creation of company-wide risk management strategies. Works with senior business leaders to communicate risks, impact, and mitigation plans for the business. Applies best practices to take calculated risks. Takes risks and learns from failures. Encourages ideas from others that may include risk but may provide great gains for the organization.

• Mentors junior team members.

• Provide technical leadership to TPMs across organization.

• Experience in Agile Methodology: Coaches others.

Education and Essential Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 6 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 9 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 11 years of professional experience

Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Information Technology or Program Management

Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience

Preferred Characteristics:

• Strong knowledge of software design and coding principles

• Experience working in an Agile environment

• Familiarity with versatile implementation options

• Demonstrates knowledge on technical topics, such as caching, APIs, data transfer, scalability, and security

• Experience in Six Sigma, Lean, and Agile Methodologies.
