Role Summary/Purpose

The Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC) Plant & Equipment Investment Coordinator will work in conjunction with the site project managers, Finance, Lean team and the rest of the Production team to manage the complete life-cycle of capital investment (forecast, sourcing, cost account management, tracking and disposal). The person in this position will report directly to the Site Facilities Leader and be a crucial part in the growth of the Huntsville CMC site, working with new, cutting edge technology.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Develop and manage P&E-related business and cost models

·  Engage with senior leadership to report on forecasted site investments, obtain approval for investments, report on project financial performance

·  Support the Project Management Team in the development of shop floor layout including plant infrastructure layout, and equipment placement

·  Work with Operations leaders, program managers and Lean Kaizen promotion Office (KPO) to coordinate necessary workouts for timely value stream maps supporting equipment placement

·  Manage the sourcing life-cycle for equipment & related project services (Bid package generation, Issue for Bid (IFB) release, source selection, Issue for Construction (IFC) release, P.O. placement, equipment receipt)

·  Registration, tracking and reporting of site capital equipment

·  Be comfortable in the digital space and in presenting information to the Production Team

·  Work cross functionally to understand the business and production needs

·  Be a part of various projects and initiatives on site

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)

·  Minimum of 3 years of experience in Facility Management

·  Master’s degree in management, engineering or business administration from an accredited university or college

·  Expert in Excel with experience building or maintaining complex models

·  Organized with date discipline and attention to detail

·  Strong written and oral communication skills

·  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

·  Ability to document, plan, market, lead and execute programs

·  Pragmatic with a bias for action and a demonstrated record of both leading and implementing change

·  Ability to tailor a message using strong written, oral and presentation skills

·  Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems

·  Experience leading projects, programs or initiatives in one or more areas including: manufacturing, digital technology, quality, manufacturing engineering, design engineering or quality

·  Experience in purchasing, finance, manufacturing, engineering, quality or operations

GE Aviation is investing more than $200 million to construct two factories on 100 acres in Huntsville, Alabama. One plant will mass produce silicon carbide (SiC) ceramic fiber, the first high volume production operation in the U.S. The adjacent GE factory on the same campus will use the SiC ceramic fiber to make unidirectional CMC prepreg necessary to fabricate the CMC components.
