Role Summary/Purpose

The Pharmacy Technician/Courier supports pharmacy operations by dispensing, packaging and delivering sterile radiopharmaceuticals within regulatory guidelines to authorized recipients within a 24-hour healthcare business environment.
Essential Responsibilities

• Handle, package and deliver radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with all regulations and Company Policies, Corporate Standards and Health and Safety rules related to area of responsibility
• Process prepared products by wrapping and placing into the proper delivery containers; prepare shipping paperwork and labels
• Process returned medical waste and maintain returned unusable supplies in compliance with all regulations and Company Policies
• Maintain cleanliness of lab with facility housekeeping schedules, which may include but are not limited to: mopping, sweeping, cleaning, tidying and removal of waste from facility
• Assist in the disposal and related paperwork of bio-hazardous waste
• Assist in the inventory control of general lab supplies
• Complete radiation wipes and surveys on shipping containers, pharmacy supplies, incoming packages, work spaces and vehicles to ensure employee safety and to meet radioactive material licensing conditions
• Complete Department of Transportation (DOT) paperwork for deliveries
• Support Pharmacy Operations by accurately entering required information into pharmacy computer system
• Perform product quality control tests on prepared products and record results
• Exemplify compliance with all regulations, Company Policies, Corporate Standards and Health and Safety rules related to area of responsibility
• Process and review customer orders from initial receipt through final packaging accurately and consistently
• Perform daily set-up for production
• Fulfill the radiopharmaceutical orders and perform leukocyte labeling procedures
• Monitor and maintain appropriate level of drug inventory and other business necessary supplies
• Perform required tests on equipment (e.g. dose calibrator constancy and survey meter checks) and manually record results
• Perform quality control tests on prepared products to ensure all quality requirements have been met
• Actively participate in maintaining a safe work environment by completing required initial and annual training, providing suggestions for improving the health and safety program and bringing unsafe acts and/or conditions to the attention of management

1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
Qualifications/Requirements

1. Willingness to submit to a drug test and background check
2. High School Diploma or GED
3. Valid driver’s license to operate in necessary delivery area
4. Ability to accommodate shift changes based on business needs
5. Ability to lift 50 pounds
6. Willingness to work on an on-call basis, with the expectation that you can arrive to the pharmacy within 45 minutes
7. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certified (employment is contingent upon successfully passing the PTCB certification within 6 months from date of hire) or current enrollment in an Accredited School of Pharmacy or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or local country pharmacy certifications, where appropriate
8. Must have California State Pharmacy Technician License.
