Role Summary/Purpose

Reporting to Senior Manager for Risk & Compliance, this role is for an Oracle database administrator, liaising directly with the application administrators and Senior leadership. Role requires a self-motivated individual capable of supporting and monitoring Oracle databases, identifying potential problems and pro-actively driving the best resolution.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Oracle Database Administrator supporting high availability RAC databases

·  Implementation & support of cluster grid infrastructure using ASM on RHEL with thin provisioned SAN storage

·  Build and support of encrypted databases using Oracle TDE encryption

·  Administration of databases in an Oracle Data Vault secured configuration

·  Daily operational duties related to Database backups and development of backup scripts

·  Administration of databases via Oracle Enterprise Manager

·  Administration of user accounts and Oracle database white glove end user support

·  Support databases through grid infrastructure monitoring and housekeeping scripts, including Linux shell scripting

·  P1 priority database support

·  Drive proactive patching plans to apply Oracle patching

·  Maintain and apply current knowledge of Oracle databases; keep abreast of new and emerging related technologies

·  Support team deliverables; clearly recognized as a subject matter expert for Oracle databases
Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

·  Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience

·  Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) qualified or equivalent training experience

·  Practical knowledge of legacy Oracle releases including 8.1, 9.2, 10.2 and 11.2 on Microsoft Windows and Solaris

·  Substantial technical experience across Computing and Infrastructure industry

·  Experience with implementing database solutions in enterprise level Data Centres

·  Experienced of working in ITIL controlled environment
