Role Summary/Purpose

Unison Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Aviation, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of electrical components, sensors and systems for aircraft, industrial, marine, military and space. Unison’s products span the globe and can be found on almost anything flying – from two place trainer airplanes to giant 747’s and rockets traveling to space.

We presently have an opening for a first shift Welder 3, working from 7 AM- 3:30 PM.

Essential Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

·  Perform all Norwich Welder level 1 & 2 functions, in addition to level 3

·  Assist in leading Team initiatives

·  Receive minimal training / guidance from Level 4 employees

·  Effectively & efficiently produce parts according to certification and quality guidelines

·  Assist in new process development and troubleshooting of products.

·  Possess the ability to perform welding functions in an area and / or product line outside of your home department

·  Perform duties on more complex, prototype or first time builds

·  Interact with internal and / or external customers and support functions (i.e. – Planners, Engineering) outside of home department

·  Utilize proper PPE and safety equipment

·  Other duties as required

·  This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Qualifications/Requirements

·  High School Diploma / GED

·  Prior vocational and / or technical experience, including a minimum of 3 years in Welding

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

·  This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

·  Utilize proper PPE and safety equipment


·  Proficient in performing Norwich Welder Level 1 & 2 skills and responsibilities and illustrate capabilities to successful perform Level 3 responsibilities

·  Intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation

·  Expert understanding of weld symbols and schedules

·  Ability and willingness to obtain welding certifications as required
Desired Characteristics

·  Prior experience in a manufacturing environment

·  Transferrable TIG welding experience

·  Prior welding experience required, preferably 3-5 years of experience

·  Special education and / or training to support level 1-2 knowledge

·  Prior Vocational / Trade School training that supports Norwich Welder level 1-2 knowledge
