Role Summary/Purpose

Unison Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Aviation, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of electrical components, sensors, and systems for aircraft, industrial, marine, military, and space. Unison's products span the globe and can be found on almost anything flying - from two place trainer airplanes to giant 747's and rockets traveling to space.

We presently have openings for 3rd Shift CNC Machine Operators, in our Machine Shop Dept. working from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
Essential Responsibilities

In addition you will :

·  Perform all Norwich CNC Machine Operator level 1 & 2 functions, in addition to level 3

·  Cross-train other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience

·  Assist in leading Team initiatives

·  Perform set up & operation of CNC machines

·  May set up and operate lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, and hand tools to fabricate parts and tools

·  Checks for proper tooling, sharpness & alignment

·  Operate multiple machines simultaneously

·  Compliantly troubleshoots tools, fixtures, and equipment as necessary

·  Perform duties on more complex proto-types or first time builds

·  More frequent interaction with internal and / or external customers and support functions (i.e. – Planners, Engineering) outside of home department
Qualifications/Requirements

·  High School Diploma / GED

·  NOR CNC Machine Operator knowledge, levels 1 and 2

·  Prior Vocational and / or Trade training or equivalent experience

OR

·  Prior Vocational / Trade School training that supports level 1-2 knowledge

·  Minimum 3 years of experience in Machine Shop Operations

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :

·  This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

·  Ability and willingness to work third shift (11:00 PM to 7:30 AM)

·  Proficient in performing level 1 & 2 responsibilities and illustrate capabilities to successfully perform level 3 responsibilities

·  Knowledge of machine shop operations

·  Ability and willingness to perform intermediate mathematical calculations involving decimals, ratios, etc.

·  Intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation
Desired Characteristics

·  Understanding of CNC and manual machines operations

·  Knowledge in machine shop operations, preferably 3-5 years of experience

·  Basic programming knowledge to include reading and editing of programs
