Role Summary/Purpose

The NDT Level II Quality Technician will lead the non-destructive testing and analysis of Precision Investment Casting components being manufactured for Power Generation Equipment, while adhering to stringent standards of safety and quality. The primary focus is Radiographic Inspection (CT/X-Ray), visual and LAUE grain inspections, and can include Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT).

Essential Responsibilities

As the NDT Level II Quality Technician, you will:

·  Lead the evaluation of castings using Radiographic Inspection (CT / X-Ray), visual and LAUE grain inspections
·  Assist with evaluation of Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) as needed
·  Process parts, interpret, evaluate and report evaluation results in accordance with procedures and technical instructions
·  Create and maintain work instructions for NDT processes
·  Develop NDT techniques for approval by Level III
·  Set-up, operate, calibrate and perform process control checks on NDT equipment by following established procedures and record results
·  Maintain required job skills, Level II certifications, and knowledge of requirements including procedures, specifications etc.
·  Provide technical direction, leadership and thorough training to other Level II and Level I employees
·  Analyze and document product defects and generate non-conformance reports, provide dispositions and perform root cause analysis as required
·  Review routers, procedures, specifications and other instructions to ensure part inspection quality and maintain records in compliance with Quality Management System (QMS)
·  Use precision measuring equipment as required, ensure calibration of all required gages
·  Clean equipment and ensure it is working properly, maintain clean work area consistently
·  Work with X-ray generating equipment
·  Complete various assigned projects and special individual duties as required by management
·  Work with cross-functional peers in engineering, planning, quality, etc. to fulfill business requirements, resolve issues and drive continuous improvement
·  Support all company workplace policies including attendance and safety objectives
·  Develop and support the growth of all employees
·  Work extensive overtime, which could include long shifts and weekends, to fulfill business requirements
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Associate's Degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university
·  Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment with inspection and test equipment
·  Minimum of 1 year of experience in physics, mathematics, hydraulics, computer and programming skills, six sigma or equivalent quality methodologies, electrical and mechanical diagnostics techniques, safety and environmental concerns with electrical and mechanical equipment OR

·  High School Diploma /GED
·  Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with inspection and test equipment
·  Minimum
of 3 years of experience in physics, mathematics, hydraulics, computer
and programming skills, six sigma or equivalent quality methodologies,
electrical and mechanical diagnostics techniques, safety and
environmental concerns with electrical and mechanical equipment ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

·  Ability and willingness to work extensive overtime, which could include long shifts and weekends

Desired Characteristics

·  Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a technical discipline from an accredited college or university
·  Minimum of 5 years of NDT experience in Radiographic Inspection (CT / X-Ray), visual
and LAUE grain inspections for investment casting components
·  Documented qualification / certification to the Level II requirements for ASNT's SNT-TC-1A for Radiography Testing (RT, CT / X-Ray), including classroom training and hands-on experience meeting the hours requirements with investment casting components
·  Experience and/or qualification for Penetrant Testing (PT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) of investment casting components

·  Experience in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) for investment casting components
·  Strong technical, analytical, and diagnostic skills
·  Proficiency in the use of computer systems and current office suite programs (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
·  Up to date technical knowledge of the latest trends in manufacturing technology

·  Ability to apply and adapt technology to new situations
·  Strong communication skills (interpersonal, oral and written)
·  Ability to work in a matrix organization with minimal supervision
·  High attention to detail and accuracy
·  Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
·  Experience working with Unionized labor within a production environment
·  Desire to work in a challenging and dynamic manufacturing environment
·  Ability to develop credibility with employees, manager and peers
·  Demonstrated integrity: accepts and adheres to high ethical, moral, and personal values in decisions, communications, and actions when dealing with others
