Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform all required inspections, tests, and evaluations in radiography.
  • Ensure all equipment, personnel, and planning is maintained in a condition of proficient operation and quality compliance.
  • Create and maintain techniques, planning, programming, equipment, supplies, and software quality assurance as necessary.
  • Provide classroom and on-the-job-training of inspectors when designated by Level 3 certifying agent to do so.
  • Evaluate and interpret inspection results in accordance with Engine Shop Manuals, Service Bulletins, Manufacturing Blueprints, Process Specifications and Work Instructions
  • Accurately document test findings and archive historical records
  • Effectively communicate information and perform duties in a teaming environment


  • Current level 2 certification in digital and/or film radiography meeting National Aerospace Standard (NAS) 410.  Previous radiography training and experience must include a minimum of 80 hours formal classroom education, 800 hours radiography experience
  • Pass the eye test requirement per NAS410
  • Experience in using basic hang tools and setting up equipment, fixtures, and parts for inspection including sound material and chemical handling practices, performing basic machine preventative maintenance, and performing calibration of equipment to known standards.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Minimum of 40 hours digital radiography classroom training and 200 hours of digital radiographic testing experience
  • Multiple Level 2 or higher Certifications held in NDT that are current
  • Prior multiple NDT certifications
  • Technical or Vocational degree in NDT
  • Experience in CNC or NC equipment
  • Proficient in the use of shop math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and use of fractions and decimals) with the ability to learn and apply trigonometry and geometry.
  • Possess understanding of repair process and service induced discontinuities related to aviation hardware overhauled or repaired.
  • Experience in computing skills and performing basic CNC programming of equipment used for inspections.
  • Experienced in the use of basic shop mechanical measurement equipment (mic’s, verniers, dial indicators, length scales).
  • Must be capable of identifying and obtaining materials needed for performance of work in assigned area.
