Role Summary/Purpose

The Manufacturing Quality and Inspection Technician is responsible for microbiological identification, sterility test areas, on-site finished document control and environmental monitoring. Participates in new procedures and conducts calibrations/validation studies as they pertain to microbiology. Work is technical and specialized, requiring accuracy and attention to detail

Essential Responsibilities

• Performs required bio burden, sterility and bacterial serotoxin testing on final products and raw materials.
• Performs viable and non-viable environmental monitoring.
• Operates non-viable particle counter/facility monitoring systems.
• Monitors sterility and environmental media for microbiological growth and performs incoming growth promotion testing
• Participates in validation projects requiring microbiology support.
• Performs required speciation procedures to isolate and identify organisms from environmental and sterility tests.
• Performs computer data entry of required information for environmental and sterility program databases.
• Maintains accurate records of environmental and sterility programs.
• Performs sanitation for sterility programs.
• Provides technical expertise for Production unit for dispensing and device manufacturing operations.
• Performs document control, data collection for periodic and annual review of test results.
• Assists various departments in aseptic operations training.
• Evaluates documentation and GMP’s as they relate to microbiological issues.

Quality Specific Goals:

1. Knowledge and understanding of acceptance activity requirements for incoming, in-process, and final inspection requirements (as associated with job type/position) to ensure that a device conforms to its specification and out of specification items are properly handled.

2. Knowledge and understanding of Stop Orders, Concessions, ESD, Calibration, Preventative Maintenance, Material Identification & Segregation, documentation configuration control practices; documentation & disposition of non-conforming material, and Good Documentation Practices requirements, as associated with this job type/position

3. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

4. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

5. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

1. Associate degree plus 2 years working experience in Manufacturing or Laboratory or Bachelor's degree
2. Ability to speak, understand, read, and write in local language
3. Proficient with software applications applicable to the job
4. Must be available for nights and weekends as needed.
5. Must have the ability to distinguish color.
6. Ability to lift 25lbs
