Role Summary/Purpose

This Manager is responsible for the Mechanical Engineering function within our Anesthesia & Respiratory business. Join us and lead an innovative team that delivers quality medical products on time, within budget, at the correct cost, and with competitive & differentiated features.
Essential Responsibilities

• Demonstrate accountability and communication skills to drive development rigor, innovation, and collaboration within the segment team, global teams, and across Monitoring Solutions
• Drive hardware planning and multi-generational product/platform roadmap definition and execution
• Lead mechanical engineering teams through the product development lifecycle while meeting quality, regulatory compliance, cost and business targets
• Foster customer/market understanding and competitive awareness throughout the mechanical engineering organization
• Ensure that organizational design, functional expertise, and engineering processes of the mechanical technology team are positioned for excellence
• Partner with engineering managers, program managers, and product managers to ensure the success of the engineering development programs
• Drive a culture that ensures outstanding compliance and adherence to product quality
• Engage in business planning processes such as performance reviews, resource allocation, recruitment, retention, talent development, coaching, and mentoring
• Collaborate with peers across functions (e.g. Marketing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Service, Sales) to drive a high performance team environment
• Demonstrate excellent communication, influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiatives
• Drive and deliver cost out opportunities and projects
Qualifications/Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related Engineering degree
2. Minimum of 7 years overall progressive engineering work experience
3. Minimum of 5 years of previous supervisory experience and demonstrated competency in providing leadership and coaching to direct reports
4. Proven track record to lead engineering teams and deliver on business and program goals
5. Strong electrical and mechanical design tool and development process knowledge
6. Demonstrated engineering knowledge, program management, and business planning processes, having experience with the full product lifecycle
7. Demonstrated communication, coaching and interpersonal skills
8. Ability and willingness to travel 10% both domestic and international

1. Masters’ degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related Engineering degree
2. Minimum of 10 years overall progressive engineering work experience
3. Minimum of 10 years of previous supervisory experience and demonstrated competency in providing leadership and coaching to direct reports
4. Demonstrated technical expertise and domain experience in hardware
5. Demonstrated track record of delivering robust design releases on time and within budget
6. Proven ability to drive change and partner with global teams
7. Business Planning: Strategic planner and clear thinker
8. Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing resources, timing and quality of outcomes. Ability to manage priority tradeoffs to optimize program deliveries.
9. Creative problem solver and solution developer when presented with conflicting requirements, business demands and technical risks/issues. Responsive and willing to take ownership of issues and drive solutions.
10. Excellent influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiatives when working with a global team
11. Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and decisive
12. Strong business acumen as well as customer focused influencing skills
13. Product, clinical and technology knowledge of monitoring related clinical applications and workflow
14. Understanding of regulated Healthcare industry
15. Previous experience in a regulated medical device company
16. Demonstrated knowledge of FDA design controls requirements
