Job Description Summary

The Materials Facilitator is responsible for leading the a stores team to ensure accurate and efficient material throughput in support of manufacturing cells, engineering, and external customers. This role focusses on supporting the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and Avionics Value Streams at our Cheltenham site.

This role has a strong emphasis on ensuring world class standards of material flow, storage, accuracy, quality, and presentation, supporting production growth. The Materials Facilitator will empower teams to set goals aligned with the business and deliver on priorities set by the Materials Leader.

Job Description

·  Lead safely to eliminate reportable incidents and improve awareness amongst the team.
·  Manage day-to-day priorities of the CH18 Stores team, aligned to customer requirements and team strategies.
·  Support assigned team on process improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve inventory turns and reduce manufacturing losses.
·  Work alongside the Production Planner and Material Facilitator to plan and deliver material to the Value Stream to meet output targets.
·  Assist Materials Leader with overall decision making in areas of process improvement and/or production to make appropriate resource decisions to facilitate the flow of material.
·  Ensure effective and efficient material control and inventory management, to improve material accuracy and presentation methods.
·  Measure team performance and balance critical measures to guide decision making and encourage cross-functional team success.
·  Attend and lead daily operating rhythms to drive team priorities and utilise escalation opportunities.
·  Own projects associated to world class material presentation to influence key performance indicators for the Value Stream.

Required qualifications/Skills:

·  Strong experience in supply chain, material planning or production support within a manufacturing environment
·  Proficiency with an ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
·  Working knowledge of inventory control practices
·  Basic structured problem solving (e.g., 5-Whys) and root-cause/containment for inventory discrepancies
·  Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and documentation discipline to maintain audit readiness
·  Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with production, logistics, quality, and procurement

Desired qualifications:

·  Vocational/technical certification in supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing preferred
·  Experience with lean practices
·  Experience working in a highly regulated manufacturing industry (e.g., aerospace, medical, automotive)
·  Familiarity with shortage management and escalation processes
·  Strong knowledge of Excel or data tools (dashboards, pivot tables) to track KPIs and analyse trends
