Job description

Salary : £26,000

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

To be responsible for the timely delivery of Raw and Pack materials required to meet the production plan.
To support outbound dispatch of Finished Goods and WIP materials.
To be responsible for Raw and Pack materials masterdata.


JOB SUMMARY

Safety –
· Act in a safe manner around site, in accordance with the site safety rules.
· Report near misses and incidents using the site reporting system.
· Assist in investigating any safety incidents related to suppliers and hauliers etc.

Quality
Review delivery plans in light of quality issues, ensuring minimal impact on the factory.

Cost
Maintain optimum material stocks levels, with regular reviews against monthly stock value targets.
Minimize the requirement for express transport of incoming material.
Support financial targets by minimizing write offs and maintaining stock level integrity.
Investigate and act upon usage variances.

Customer Service
Ensure excellent material availability to the factory, having orders in place to meet the factory demands
Understand the requirements of the MSOs and the demand variability associated with raw material ordering.
Advise key stakeholders in material lead times to facilitate innovations.
Liaise with stakeholders and suppliers to achieve successful innovations.
Have a working knowledge of the formulations produced in the factory and the manufacturing processes in the making plant
Have a working knowledge of the tank/silo farm, tank/silo capabilities and raw material usage rates
Maintain material master data to an acceptable level of accuracy in conjunction with central teams
Ensure that suppliers use the dock booking system and adhere to booking slots
Coordinate outbound dispatches in a timely manner

WCM
Support the implementation of WCM in the area of material planning and scheduling.


Training and Development
Support other roles in the same department during holiday/sickness periods by learning and practicing the roles.
Support line team members by using your superior knowledge of SAP – become a key user.

Problem Solving & Decision Making
Use information from a variety of sources in order to resolve issues as they arise.
The need for forward planning and the ability to understand the reasons for problems and devise solutions will be essential for the role.
Able to prioritise own workload and without close supervision
Assist in the investigation and completion of actions relating to scheduling errors and inventory challenges.
Use the knowledge of systems (ie; SAP) to provide solutions to ad hoc problems.


General
Liaison with supplier base, with regular performance reviews and KPI tracking
Manage invoice query process for suppler base and authorize payments
Interaction with other supply planning team members, team leaders, warehouse teams, SCCs, Category teams, Buying, MSOs where required
Generate a working knowledge of Bills of materials which use the materials that you control.
Maintain the role's standard operating procedures

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

GCSEs in Math's and English, at a C grade and above
Fully operational on SAP and Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel
