Role Summary/Purpose
The Manufacturing Specialist - NPI / Industrial Projects will develop and design complex assembly and test tooling and fixturing used to manufacture power generation products in a fast paced, development environment.
Essential Responsibilities
In addition you will :
· Organize and lead projects related to new premises, factory buildings, rehabilitation, new equipment, lay-out, renovations and optimization
· Manage capital investments. Includes Advanced Manufacturing Engineers, New product introduction (NPI) and NPI Manufacturing Engineers
· Expected to resolve problems through the application of acquired expertise guided by precedent
· Work together with people from the business unit
· Contacts are under guidance and / or geared towards specifying activities, planning of activities and giving explanations on technical issues
· Communicate with direct team and supervisor
· Present to internal teams on metrics, project status and research
· Create definition of tooling in the form of 2D cross sections, 2D drawings, 3D reusable models to support manufacturing, assembly, test, quality, and inspection within expected cost, quality and schedule
· Defining manufacturing methodology with design, manufacturing and process engineers
· Continuously challenges self and team skills in functional area
· Stay current with industry developments in one's field of expertise
· Concurrently manage multiple projects to ensure program cost, quality and schedule requirements are met
· Active participation in short and long-term team, section and / or business goals focused on continuous improvement and simplification
· Utilize Lean Six Sigma principles to drive improvements to current business products and processes
· Provide technical leadership for team members in the form of training, mentoring, talent development, and work verification
· Develop and maintain machine and tooling PM (Preventative Maintenance) schedules
· Develop and co-own with production the AM (Autonomous Maintenance) schedule for shop for tooling and machines
· Implement standardized tool kits across the OE shop based on function – includes identification for tool life for hand tools and their respective replacement plan

Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of IT, engineering, scientific or other technical experience)
· A minimum of 3 years of experience in the design of mechanical components and systems
