Role Summary/Purpose

This permanent new role is based in GE Sensing EMEA, Shannon, which is part of Baker Hughes, a GE Company. The Graduate Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for maintaining the processes necessary to manufacture phased array and conventional ultrasonic NDT transducers. In addition, this individual will support ongoing manufacturing operations and new product introductions.
Essential Responsibilities

• Maintain BOMs, routers, assembly procedures, test procedures and specifications, and current standards for products released to manufacturing.
• Work with the transducer engineering teams, application specialists and quality department to improve process stability and product quality
• Work with the transducer engineering teams to ensure successful new product introductions with acceptable yield and good manufacturability
• Provide emergency assistance for repair and maintenance of production equipment
• Initiate cost reduction projects with supply chain leaders and sourcing department on a continuing basis
• Aid in the design and enhancement of the shop floor control system to reduce cost, lead times, and increase throughput
• Provide technical production support for all transducer manufacturing/engineering departments.
• Suggest and implement quality improvements in the transducer production areas and initiate/participate in lean activities
• Provide project management for in-sourcing and out-sourcing initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements

• BEng in manufacturing or other electro/ mechanical manufacturing related field.
• Practical prior experience beneficial but not essential
Desired Characteristics

• Experience using test and measurement equipment inc pulse generators, Oscilloscopes and impedance analyzers
• Programming experience – LabVIEW, Visual Basic, Access, C++
• Ability to design simple tooling using Autocad or Solidworks
• Fundamental understanding of Lean
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good analytical, problem solving, and root-cause analysis skills
• Experience in SPC and MS Excel or Access
• Ability to multi-task and handle tasks with competing priorities effectively
• Familiarity with SAP is a plus
