You will build and manage supplier relationships, negotiate procurement and contracts for machined parts and support Commercial & Military product lines, ensuring compliance to all GE Aviation policies & procedures. You will be responsible for PO placement & execution, supplier strategy & capacity development, cost idea generation & execution, & supplier performance management.
Essential Responsibilities

The Machined Parts Domestic Buyer, you will:

·  Timely Negotiations & PO placements

·  Adherence to GE Aviation compliance, quality, cost, and delivery requirements

·  Develops and implements strategy for assigned and new suppliers

·  Drives cost out projects and initiatives

·  Collaborates with team members and various functions to execute source changes and coordinate raw material

·  Actively participates in large scale negotiations

·  Works cross-functionally to drive cost, delivery, quality, and supplier development

Additionally, as the Machined Parts Domestic Buyer, you may also be responsible for:

·  Places and follows-up on POs

·  Manages relationships with suppliers for PO execution

·  Manages problems and schedules changes

·  Updates ERP

·  Develops new solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organizations

·  Balances both tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects

·  Works together with high level people from the business at SPB and EB level

·  Specifies needs, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes of research done

·  Provides technical / commercial assistance to Commodity Buyers to develop awareness of manufacturing processes and improve product knowledge

·  Actively participate in supplier performance reviews

·  Advises Functional managers regarding projects, processes and procedures within own field

·  Contributes to project as a team member or leads small projects
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Sourcing)

·  A minimum of 3 years of experience in Buying / Procurement
