Role Summary/Purpose
The Coordinator will work in a dynamic environment supporting GE Lighting manufacturing and global sourcing with domestic and international freight movement. As a core member of the Transportation team, you will be expected to conduct reporting and analytics while developing super-user level expertise in TMS, Order Management, SAP, etc. while aiding SR Transportation Manager model shipment level information and recommendations for improving transportation services.
Essential Responsibilities
· Perform key analyses of transportation cost (ocean, air, domestic). Critical to management accruals, financial and cost out projects. Provide analytical support for different cross functional teams within GE Lighting.
· Collaborate with GE management on Logistics/Supply Chain projects.
· Work directly with distribution center managers, transportation managers, process leaders, customer service representatives, and sales departments to achieve common goals.
· Maintain databases and reports for logistics department, including key performance indicators (KPIs), freight rate calculator, various freight invoice audits, transportation rate analyses, etc.
· Provide project management support for logistics, including any custom applications.
· Oversee freight rate data files, including creating and maintaining rate databases and spreadsheets in support of TMS system.
· Work with third-party freight payment companies on freight billing resolution; EDI support, etc. Support GE Lighting and Lighting Solutions.
· Develop superuser level expertise in various systems used to support Transportation: TMS, Order Management, SAP etc.
· Manages carrier partner relationships
· Create, maintain and distribute KPIs, scorecards, dashboards on a fixed schedule i.e. daily, weekly, monthly
· Assist with budgeting and trending process
· Work with planning team and TMS vendor to ensure TMS functioning at optimal level
· Maintain TMS Routing Guide
· Track, trace and update shipments as required. Manage expedited loads with carriers and assign/push for delivery.
· Execute the global ocean freight procurement strategy. Manage ocean going freight forecast. Minimize demurrage/detention charges.
· Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by Sr. Transportation Manager.
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelors degree in Supply chain management, Logistics or related field from an accredited university.
· Minimum of 3 yrs experience in Logistics/ Transportation
