Role Summary/Purpose

The System Engineer is part of a small to mid-sized cross-functional program team working on delivering the technical content, performance, and quality deliverables of a product development program. On this technical team, the system engineer works to ensure that product programs achieve all design objectives required to meet customer and business needs, including: feature and functionality, quality, reliability, serviceability, manufacture-ability, regulatory, compliance, and cost.
Essential Responsibilities

Duties include (but are not limited to):
• Active team member in design control process, especially in subsystem decomposition, requirements development, design planning, and design transfer.
• Understanding and translating the user needs into system requirements and determining architectural decomposition and allocation to subsystems.
• Developing requirements flow down, architecture/system design and analysis, risk analysis, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, integration test, and manufacturing.
• Conducts component and product integration.
• Identifying and implementing design changes that result in variable cost savings to existing products that are in the market
• Reviewing and creating DHF (Design History File) deliverables per New Product Introduction & Installed Base plans as required by the Quality Management System.
• Participates in validation and verification activities for the overall product, including system level testing.
• Ensuring that the quality targets are satisfied and retiring technical risks as they arise on the program.
• Responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components, manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system.
• Expected to resolve problems through the application of acquired expertise guided by precedent.
• Communicates with direct team and supervisor. Presents to internal teams on metrics, project status and research.

Quality Specific Goals:
1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
4. Ensure compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Control Formal Design Reviews and NPI program milestones
5. Participate in continuous improvement activities by driving the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering
2. Experience working on projects during internships or in college
3. Experience working with teams during internships and engineering group projects
4. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

U.S. (Country) Specific Qualifications:
1. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States full-time without sponsorship at time of hire
2. Must be willing to work in our Wauwatosa, WI facility full-time
