Role Summary/Purpose

The Energy Storage Lead System Battery Engineer Technologist is a self-driven engineer responsible for leading the design team in collection of VOC and implementation into sub-system and component specifications. In this role, you will identify problems with the existing battery system design and add a fresh perspective to our existing understanding.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Lead System Battery Engineer Technologist, you will:

·  Direct customer and battery supplier interactions,
·  Collect, manage, allocate, and communicate requirements
·  Support sub-system problem management and solution implementation
·  Lead a matrixed team
·  Support time dependent and parametric data analysis
·  Determine / document desired sub-system behavior discussion
·  Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
·  Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
·  Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
·  Participate as a presenter and/or reviewer in technical and program reviews
·  Support whiteboard discussion, in a joint teaching-learning scenario
·  Travel to battery suppliers and end customers in Asia, Europe, and North America
·  Lead system level problem identification / solution, requirement management / allocation, and sub-system design generation
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college
·  Minimum of 5 years of experience with energy storage, renewable energy, and/or commercial load center system design / product release
·  Minimum of 3 years of experience working with IEEE, IBC, IEC, CEI, UL, ANSI, JAEC, KOR guidelines and standards
·  Minimum of 3 years of experience performing simple thermodynamic and dynamic calculations
·  Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a cross-functional environment
·  Minimum of 3 years of experience with NPI, NTI and products, both development and process in general ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

·  Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time
Desired Characteristics

·  Minimum of 10 years of experience in Grid Connected Energy Storage System
·  Experience with common field practices involving the handling,
installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of Energy Storage or Renewable systems
·  Fundamental knowledge of common practices regarding general building construction
·  Experience in manufacturing of LiIon battery cells, modules, and systems
·  LiIon / other battery or fuel cell electro-chemical engineering experience
·  Fundamental knowledge of water pumping and piping system design
·  LV / MV system design experience
·  Excellent interpersonal communication skills (e.g., ability to effectively communicate with all levels of GE and customer / plant staff)
·  Thrives in management of multiple projects in unpredictable and hectic environments
·  Six Sigma or equivalent Quality expertise (Green or Black Belt)
·  Capable of independent judgment in a changing environment
·  Learns by doing, reading, and discussion
