Job Description Summary
The Lead Reliability Engineer plays a key role in implementing Reliability strategy at the Huntsville Site. This role reports to the Facilities Engineering Manager in a new PSM-covered plant and will facilitate RCM studies to develop and implement asset strategies to increase equipment availability and drive OEE improvement. The Lead Reliability Engineer will support production, maintenance, and capital projects while acting as a partner and champion for Reliability processes.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Use failure modes and equipment history to define asset strategies
- Support maintenance and reliability specialists in implementation and execution of asset strategies
- Collect and analyze reliability data, maintenance costs, and failure data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Lead and/or Participate on RCFA investigations and FMEA teams
- Provide troubleshooting and assistance for unusual or persistent problems
- Effectively communicate to Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams regarding reliability strategies, plant strategies/performance measures and asset objectives/goals
- Work with Capital Project Engineering to define specifications and reliability/maintainability standards for new equipment
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of engineering experience)
- Minimum of 3 years of reliability experience in an industrial manufacturing site
Desired Characteristics
- Practical knowledge of reliability processes (RCM, RCFA, FMEA) and predictive technologies (ultrasound, vibration analysis, thermography)
- Ability and willingness to work off shift, as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
- Experience with CMMS and Maintenance processes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with personnel from diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization.
- CMRP or CRL Certification
