Role Summary/Purpose
The Project Engineer Leader will:
• Lead or support the design, development and certification of Electrical System components for Aviation Commercial engines.
• Develop and maintain program plans to comply with customer needs by managing projects within budget and schedule.
• Provide technical engineering support to resolve manufacturing or field issues.
• Apply, adapt or develop technologies for product introduction, quality, performance, cost improvements and problem resolution.
Essential Responsibilities
• Provide technical guidance for and/or lead projects throughout the product development process; applying solve problems experience, develop and execute objectives for self and others.
• The projects shall meet the analysis, design, test and integration related to electrical-mechanical components (e.g. harnesses, temperature, level, speed, position sensors, accelerometers) and their application into the engine system, assemblies or processes according to GE Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards, Design Customer Operating Procedures, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special security requirements. Task include:
• Lead the development of components, assemblies, processes or systems and solve complex high impact problems:
i. Define technical schedule cost and / or program requirements.
ii. Design electro-mechanical components or systems as per technical and program requirements.
iii. Integrate electro-mechanical components or systems into the final application.
iv. Understand and read FEA results.
v. Concurrently work on multiple projects, monitoring progress and quality and ensuring schedule requirements are met.
vi. Effectively communicate and provide recommendations to internal customers through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data.
vii. Ensure timely communication to stakeholders.
viii. Document technical data generated to substantiate the assigned components, assembly processes and/or systems consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
• Prepare and present technical reviews.
• Prepare test plans, procedures and reports (for qualification, certification and /or development).
• Support field and manufacturing issues as required.
• Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams; mentor others in the organization.
Qualifications/Requirements
• BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical and electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or related degree plus 6 years of experience or Master’s degree (related field) plus 4 years of experience or PhD degree (related field) plus 2 years of experience.
• 4-6 years of experience developing or designing electro-mechanical hardware for aerospace, automotive, healthcare or similar regulated industry.
• Must be able to maintain technical conversations in English.
• Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Presentation Skills: ability to communicate with technical and program boards.
• Demonstrated ability in managing projects across functions.
• Capable of coaching others to accomplish assignments.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership experience.
• Demonstrated ability in establishing common goals and objectives.

Desired Characteristics
• Experience on electrical testing and analyses e.g. signal processing, EMI, circuit stability, time and frequency response, power consumption, signal attenuation, noise filtering.
• Proficiency in design and analysis tools such as Unigraphics and Ansys.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to successfully interact with customers and suppliers
