Role Summary/Purpose

This function supports our aircraft engine and systems product lines and with a 24/7 on shift team in the GE Aviation Fleet Support Shanghai. The Lead Technical Support Engineer develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. In this role, you are responsible for support of global operations. Also, you will utilize your understanding and experience to solve customer issues, and develop proactive solutions to the fleet using diagnostics tools or data analytics methods.
Essential Responsibilities

- Provide technical response and assistance in a timely manner to the customers in the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of product lines
- Respond to phone calls and emails from customers and GE Field Service Engineers (FSE) to resolve field issues
- Assist the customer with Aircraft on Ground (AOG) spare part supporting and issue resolution
- Support new engine Entry into Service (EIS) activities
- Serve as the 2nd level support function in the global technical support team
- Cooperate with the 1st level of the support function to develop action plans with guidance to respond to issues/ problems
- Analyze the failure and availability statistics of the installed fleet
- Make the customer visit and perform Diagnostics review with the customer on the regular basis
- Perform diagnostics analysis and provide technical recommendations in a timely manner
- Assist on data analytics for new detection model development and optimizing threshold setting of Diagnostics alerts
- Participate and present in technical and program reviews
- Collaborate with management in setting realistic and challenge goals
Qualifications/Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with at least 3 years of experience in aviation industry
- Must be fluent in Chinese and English
- Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Excel and Powerpoint
- Must be highly motivated, self-directed individual with a strong work ethic and proven abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proven ability to establish productive working relationships in a cross-functional team environment
- Proven written and verbal communication skills
- Effective problem identification and solution skills
- Ability to lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams
Desired Characteristics

- Additional experience in an electrical or mechanical industrial apprenticeship is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred
- Ability to analyze technical processes
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred
- Ability to make quick decisions in order to adapt to any situation
- Quality awareness and ability to identify future failures, defects, and problems
- Structured work methods and analytic skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
