Role Summary/Purpose
The Lead Engineer - Fleet Management will provide technical support to Europe / UK regional Repair & Remanufacturing (R&R) teams and the Field Service team for inspection, repair, remanufacture, upgrade and recertification activities.
Essential Responsibilities
• Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
• Disposition of inspection findings on Customer Owned Equipment (COE) on-site and off-site for Drill-through or BOP equipment on inspection and recertification activities
• Disposition Global Rejection Reports (GRR’s) for Drill-through or BOP equipment
• Provide technical guidance, ownership and support for both internal and external customers on issues related to repair and remanufacturing

In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to lead technical efforts to solve problems utilizing cross functional/external support, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Develop, assist, coordinate with the global teams on inspection and repair procedures for periodic or condition-based maintenance
• Work directly with customers and ensure effective communication of progress and results
• Collaborate with other functions such as manufacturing, sourcing, field service and project management to solve problems
• Comply with quality, health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
• Drive continuous improvement of processes, tools, and standards
• Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
• Travel to offshore and onshore locations to provide customer support
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
• Proven years experience with drill-through or Blow-Out Preventer (BOP) equipment and associated mechanical systems, or similar mechanical systems.
Desired Characteristics
Prior Oilfield experience
• Ability and willingness to travel to support customer needs
• Proven troubleshooting and communication experience in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent communication / organization / presentation skills
• Minimum of three (3) years experience working in a customer facing role
• Familiarity with Drilling equipment subsystems, API 16A / 16C / 16F specifications
• Familiar with platform external and internal requirements
• Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
• Strong interpersonal and demonstrated leadership skills with cross-functional experience
• Software proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and Mathcad
• Six Sigma / Green Belt certified or equivalent Quality training
• Ability to interpret Finite Element Analysis results
• Working knowledge of Pro-E and Autocad
• Working knowldege of Solid Mechanics and Machin Design
• Ability to make data-based recommendations and decisions
• Ability to successfully work in a team environment
• Experience working with field data and information
