As Intern - Metallography and Failure Analyst you will work alongside a failure analysis expert and you will support related activities. This is a great opportunity if you have basic experience in metallurgical laboratory analysis, such as defect analyses, optical microscopy examination, SEM-EDX, sample preparation, metallographic analysis.

Job Description

Essential Responsabilities

· 
Support with visual inspection of parts at low magnification to identify macroscopic evidence of defects or failure modes

· 
Develop your knowledge in defect assessment on jet engine parts and fracture mode of engine components

· 
Support in the surface analysis, like operation of SEM-EDS equipment

· 
Support with preliminary reports and contribute to the drafting of detailed reporting or documentation of the analyses

· 
Support with preparation of metallographic analysis of various sizes, shapes, and materials

· 
Support with sample preparation using cold and hot mount techniques, cutting, grinding and polishing, Metal Chemical Etching

· 
Support with optical microscopy examinations to analyze the microstructure of metallic materials for aeronautical use (Metallographic examination and optical imaging, Grain size measurements and image analysis)

Qualifications/Requirements

· 
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering

· 
Creativity in approaching sample preparation, conducting analyses and making continuous improvement

· 
Understanding of  FA methods, tools, and techniques & their application

· 
Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn, proactive

· 
Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively

· 
Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed

· 
Problem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker.

Fluent Italian and English

Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

Desired Qualifications

· 
Base knowledge of defect connected by jet engine parts  (Defect and Failure Analysis training )

· 
Experience with surface analysis techniques, such as SEM-EDX
