Role Summary/Purpose

The Communications Intern will play a key support role within Capital Industrial Finance as a member of the Communications & Marketing team, working closely with team members to execute internal, external and marketing communications tactics that support global business growth. The intern will also support the broader GE in Chicago initiative, helping to story tell, promote the GE brand and key projects through digital communication channels and social media.

Essential Responsibilities

·  Act as a company reporter, partnering with the GE Industrial businesses to uncover and tell GE Store success stories through case studies, key win communications through various channels

·  Help maintain key digital assets including the IF intranet and external website

·  (Re)Create content: help digitize promotional information to use in several channels

·  Interact with the GE in Chicago Communications Leader to maintain GE in Chicago social platforms and help communicate key initiatives both internally and externally

·  Assist Communications Leader with employee events, as needed

·  Help with basic design needs (updates, revisions) as needed

·  Ad hoc projects as needed

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Desired Characteristics

·  Proficient use of Microsoft Office (eg: Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

·  Strong writing and storytelling skills in print, digitally and socially

·  Clear thinking/problem solving; successfully managed social media (personal or brand)

·  Excellent communication skills, able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing

·  Experience with Adobe suite a plus

·  Adaptable/flexible: being open to change (positive or negative) in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations

Basic Qualifications:

·  Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, advertising or related field

·  Strong teamwork, communication and critical thinking skills

·  Proactive with a “can-do” attitude
