Scope:
On its perimeter and geographical area, (Portugal and Angola) P&L Leader is responsible for Grid Automation Operational performance on the execution phase (OTR) for Products, Projects and Services orders including the quality of the deliverables and the customer satisfaction in perfect harmony with the group's Ethics, Compliance and Safety rules as well as with the GE values.
- Supervises all Operations, in permanent interaction with:
- The Project/Service Managers of the projects under geographical area and responsibility.
- The South Europe Cluster teams of Grid Automation (Operations, Commerce, Finance, HR...)
- Grid Solutions' cross-functional operations teams for pull-through projects.
- Pilots operational governance (quarterly, monthly), ensuring the achievement of business priorities (Sales, Margins,
Billing, Collection, Past Dues, Inventories, HC...) and provide the annual budget vision (Budget, SII).
- Oversees project management and ensure the application of Grid Automation tools and methods
- Supervise, coach and develop the Operations teams in the geographical area.
Major Responsibilities:
- Pilot and control the execution of the OTR operational activity (products, projects, services) in its area, piloting also the profitability improvement.
- Identifies and pilot the risks and opportunities of the activity in its geographical area while guaranteeing an optimal customer satisfaction.
- In linkage with the Cluster P&L Leader, helps to set up an organization in line with the guidelines of group and delivery models to use.
- Establish and manage an effective and results-oriented unit team on the operational perimeter
- Ensures the achievement of the operational results expected by the group (Operating Plan) measured through
financial and operational indicators
- Support and facilitate Operations teams participation in the validation of offers made by the Tendering department and provided periodically post-production feedback whenever necessary.
- Ensures that root cause analyses (RCA) and 8D analyses are performed on applicable orders and support the operational team in the execution of the corrective action plan if necessary.
- Prepare the annual budget and quarterly forecasts in linkage with the South Europe Cluster Leader
- Develops and drives the execution of the Grid Automation strategic growth plan on its perimeter.
- Supports the operational governance of its activities (GPREV, Cash-call, Pacing call, Regional review...).
- Pilot the business skills and training plan of its teams.
- Ensures the commitment of Operations teams in achieving their goals and priorities, eliminates barriers to their work, uses organizational resources to improve skills, coach and train the members of its teams.
- Support the deployment of harmonized project management processes, practices, methods, and global tools provided by the central Global Operations team.
- Support the growth of the Service in its region by aligning with the Grid Automation strategy
- Provide operational support and coaching for complex and strategic Grid Automation projects
- Participate in discussions about the future of the business requiring frequent and in-depth interaction with other functions.
- Ensures a safe work environment that complies with applicable EHS, Quality and Integrity policies and procedures.
- Leads and develops a culture of GE values and integrity.
- Pilot the implementation of excellence in customer projects execution
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Electronics/Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Engineering and Business knowledge.
- Min 2 years of experience in project engineering.
- Knowledge of Electricity Transmission, Distribution & Industrial markets.
- Capability to manage & motivate a project team
- Autonomy & Rigor
- Fully fluent in Portuguese and English. Other languages valued (French, Italian and/or Spanish).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus and ability to cooperate with the different departments.
- Willingness to travel around 30%
Desired Characteristics:
- Engineering degree or equivalent (skills/experiences).
- 8 to 10 years experience in operational management as well as multidisciplinary project and team management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead remote team members in order to build a single coordinated and effective team.
- Ability to work in international and matrix organizations. Ability to interact with people external to departments at various levels of the company, including executive managers (EB, SEB).
- Strong business acumen, rigor in the management of regular topics, autonomy and strong resilience
- Interpersonal and leadership skills to create team spirit with high standards and service mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change through solid written and oral communication skills.
- Ease in speaking in public.
- Ability to drive process continuous improvement and to achieve organizational goals.
- Understanding the Grid Automation market, its customers and influencing factors
- Expertise required in the following areas: project management, sales management, income management, customer relationships, team management, skills development.
- Successful project management experience in the field of control-command & substation protection electrical or industrial systems
- Successful experience in the operational management of activities in the Automation field
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
