“The Magic of Science and Empathy” 

GE Healthcare Global Design is a cross-functional Design organization in 5 global locations, with 50+ growing professionals representing the disciplines of Industrial Design, Interaction Design, Design Research, Design Strategy, Human Factors, and Cognitive Psychology.
Essential Responsibilities

We Innovate, Design & Develop the experience for every phase of patient care across all the GE Healthcare businesses. 

 Our mission is to elevate and differentiate GE while delighting our customers at every touch point and establishing the GE Healthcare Brand as thought leaders in Design and User Experience. 

This internship will give you the opportunity to experience the different facets of Global Design’s Advanced Product Development process; Co-Creation with Multi-Disciplinary Project Teams, User-Centered Discovery Methodologies, Design Thinking workshops, Trend Spotting, 2D / 3D Product Concept Development, User Interface Concept Development, MVP Prototyping (minimally viable product), and Low-Volume Additive Manufacturing Methods
You will have the opportunity to execute thought-provoking and empathy driven product design solutions under the direction of an award-winning group of industrial designers and be a part of a GE’s legacy, spanning more than 200 years.

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Inclusive, team player with a passion for learning and advancing the healthcare industry 

·  User-centered, problem solving methodologies 
·  Good communication skills and ability to engage others in the design process 
·  Trend Curator 
·  Communicates visually with hand sketching, Sketchbook Pro and 3D Models (Digital / Physical)
Comfortable building User-Interface concepts utilizing Adobe CS, Balsamiq, Azure, or similar 
·  General knowledge of Additive Manufacturing 
·  Willingness to both learn from and share with our team your expertise 

·  Familiarity with this software is a plus: 
·  Sketchbook Pro 
·  Adobe CS 
·  Balsamiq, Azure 
·  Rhino 3D, Alias, Pro E
