Role Summary/Purpose

In this role of Crane Operator you will ensure the safe and compliant operation of GE Oil & Gas cranes, NCCCO satisfaction and to the customer’s specific requirements. Use cranes and other equipment to safely move loads of various types and weights from one point to another without damage to the object moved, property or personnel.
Essential Responsibilities

In the role of Field Service Crane Operator, you will:

·  Be responsible for operation of crane used in heavy lifting and transport of GE Oil & Gas equipment required to perform oil well perforating and other wire line service needs

·  Be responsible for personal safety and safety of co-workers
·  Show commitment to GE Oil & Gas safety culture through personal behavior and willingness to influence others

·  Be responsible for slings, cables, straps, and the crane prior to lifting operations

·  Perform preventative maintenance as required to ensure safe and continual service of crane

·  Supervise or perform oiling and basic mechanical maintenance of the crane

·  Be responsible for own and rigger’s compliance with company policy, safety guidelines and procedures that pertain to the crane operator’s job

·  Remain in continual voice (no radio / transmit as not safe in proximity of oil well explosives), hand, and or communication with rigger while operating the crane
·  Be responsible for creating an environment fostering open communications concerning safety issues

·  Lead or participates in safety meetings and other rigger safety programs

·  Assure that all lifts are within load limits of equipment and correctly rigged

·  Assure that lifting gear is inspected prior to use

·  Follow correct lock-out and tag procedures while working with perforating guns and other explosive materials used in the oil & gas industry

·  Operate crane equipment to hoist materials and equipment in a safe and efficient manner

·  Performs tasks assigned by rigger during lifting procedures
Qualifications/Requirements

·  High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution

·  Minimum 3 years of pumping unit and/or crane & rigging experience

Eligibility Requirements:

·  Certified Crane Operator - NCCCO Certified or Texas Certified Crane Operator

·  Possess and maintain a CDL Class B

·  Work outside in various conditions and weather

·  Be available on 24 hour call as per business or customer requirements

·  Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required

·  Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities

·  Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required

·  Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

·  Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time

·  Ability to safely deploy to remote geographic assignment locations – onshore and offshore locations with limited access to medical care, which may require 4 hours (or more) travel time to reach secondary level medical care

·  To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a BHGE owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving record

·  Ability to safely deploy to remote geographic assignment locations – onshore and offshore locations with limited access to medical care, which may require 4 hours (or more) travel time to reach secondary level medical care
