Role Summary/Purpose

The Field Composite Repair Technician requires extensive travel throughout the United States and is responsible for the inspection and repair of wind turbine blades. This position must have a high regard for safety and quality.
Essential Responsibilities

Performance:
·  Perform composite blade repairs according the specified instructions. 
·  Prepare applicable service documentation and service reports including details of repairs. 
·  Perform blade inspections as directed. 
·  Ensure all work hours and expenses have been coded correctly in tracking systems.
·  Maintain complete and accurate data and records as required by LM Wind Power.
·  Prepare and plan travel and accommodations while working remotely. 
·  Ensure tools and equipment are in working order.
·  Any other function as determined by the company from time to time. 
Safety:

·  Help maintain a work environment that is free of safety hazards .
·  Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition .
·  Ensure customer site rules, company regulations, policies and procedures are being followed at all times.
·  Ensure compliance to all federal, state and local laws and regulations.
·  Notify supervisor immediately of any workplace hazards, near misses or injuries, no matter how slight.
·  Perform inspection of safety equipment per company standards. 
·  Immediately stop the process upon any safety concern.
Communication:
·  Communicate with customers in a professional manner.
·  Communicate internally with support staff appropriately.
·  Provide customer and internal leadership team updates on any safety, quality or delivery concerns.
·  Always make a professional appearance on site.
·  Maintain a positive and respectful attitude while working alone or with a team.
Qualifications/Requirements

·  This position requires extensive travel. Must be able to travel for extended periods of time (Typical travel is 5-6 weeks on the road followed by 1 week of rest).
·  Must be able to work in confined spaces. 
·  Must be able to work at heights (above 250ft).
·  Must be able to work outdoors in variable weather conditions. 
Desired Characteristics

·  Previous experience in the wind turbine industry or composite repair.
·  Certification or Technical Degree in wind turbine maintenance or similar field.
