Role Summary/Purpose

We are looking to hire Associate or Bachelor degree students for 4+ month co-ops to work in our Computed Tomography (CT) hardware engineering team. GE Healthcare CT hardware engineering co-ops work on a variety of assignments with and hands-on involvement in areas of mechanical and electrical engineering and design. There will be project-oriented assignments where an engineering mentor is assigned for training and support.
Essential Responsibilities

The focus of these co-ops is to gain skills related to electrical technician, mechanical technician experience or CAD design. This role will perform diverse and complex assignments in support of GE Healthcare product development. Assignments may include set up and running of data acquisition equipment for tests, carrying out experiments, troubleshooting, and reporting/documenting results of tests and measures.

• Perform basic trouble shooting encompassing multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution
• Conduct experiments and diagnostic tests, as required to draw conclusions
• Perform software and hardware evaluation and implement plans using knowledge of product, system operation, intermodule interactions, engineering tools, and interactive software tools as required
• Utilize technical communications throughout the new product cycle to improve internal models and/or externally sourced components in terms of system performance, reliability, functionality, and serviceability
• Provide evaluation, constructive feedback and leadership in the development of internal and external engineering, manufacturing, or service documentation
• Provide strong individual contributions in the context of achieving team goals
• General direction is given in the execution of job related activities
• Comply with Environment Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, quality, and compliance policies
Qualifications/Requirements

• Must be a full-time student, as defined by your school, pursuing a technical diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or similar field
• 3.0 cumulative overall GPA or better (in a 4.0 scale)
• Must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours a week for 4+ months
• Must be able to work at Waukesha, WI facility
