Roles and Responsibilities
Master’s Thesis “Verification of Polar Blending with CFD”
1. Initial phase: literature review and familiarization
2. Benchmarking: Implementation of reviewed methods, execution of CFD runs to generate polars, and comparison
3. Analysis and Improvement: Identify key parameters and down select method
4. Implementation of down selected methods and verification
5. Application: Power curve simulation
6. Summary and Recommendations
Qualifications/Requirements
· Fluent in English is essential
· Spanish is not required but considered as advantage
· University student (active status)
· Background in CFD and Fluid-Structure Interaction
· Experience with scientific computing
· Good command of MS Office
· Logical thinking
· Working style - presential work in Barcelona office
· If contracted in Spain:
Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.
Desired Characteristics
· Practice in collaborative software development with github
· Familiarity with wind turbine aerodynamics
· Good command of C++
· Ansys CFX skills would be a plus
Outcomes
· Intern will gain insights into collaborative method development in an industrial engineering organization
