The opening is for candidates with a Master's degree with experience in relevant industry roles. Job Description

·  As an Engineer, you will:
·  Conduct power electronics research involving modelling and simulation of electrical components and systems designing power electronics controls, building and testing of power electronics controls and hardware and including steady state, faults, and lab scale test circuit
·  Simulate and analyze electrical systems consisting of power converters, transformers, filters, grid, electromechanical systems, renewable generation, conventional generation and controls.
·  Develop algorithms for power conversion based systems including control, monitoring and diagnostics
·  Develop and implement in hardware advanced controls of electrical system, hardware in the loop tests
·  Collaborate with Advanced Research team members and GE Vernova program stakeholders on technical projects to effectively meet program deliverables
·  Own program execution with guidance to contribute actively to milestone completion and deliver on clear task expectations
·  Ensure deliverables are completed in a timely manner
·  Write and orally represent the research to its business customers and at technical conferences
·  Work with multi-disciplinary boarder team or independently deliver based on the requirements of project
·  Deliver on technical projects with set timelines and cost
·  Gain an in-depth understanding of key business drivers and use this understanding to accomplish own work.
·  Gain an in-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
·  Build domain knowledge by rapidly assimilating information and practices
·  Use some level of judgment and have ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Use prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Have access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions with guidance.
·  Have proven interpersonal skills

Required Qualifications

·  Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with at least 1 year of relevant industry experience in an advanced technology development environment designing, building and testing power electronics and controls
·  Strong expertise in simulation and analysis of electrical systems and electro mechanical system
·  Hands-on hardware design and build experience in power electronics systems experimental set-up
·  Experience in Power electronic converters, converter control, Wind Electrical system and grid integration
·  Demonstrated expertise in power converter and control for high frequency high power applications
·  Excellent communication and presentation skills
·  Ability to work independently as well as in collaborative team environment
·  Unfailing dedication to deadlines and commitments

Desired Characteristics

·  Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
·  Experience in system simulation tools such as PLECS, Matlab/Simulink, PSCAD etc.
·  Experience in FPGA, Verilog , PCB design
·  Experience in power hardware development and testing
·  Experience in C++, Visual Studio
·  Understanding of Signal Processing, EMI is an added advantage
