Role Summary/Purpose

The Product Service Controls Engineer role will offer opportunity for direct customer contact by providing technical support to the fleet in all phases of product life cycle. In this role, you will work together with multiple cross functional teams and customers to provide innovative solutions to Controls related issues, develop robust, cost-effective solutions to ensure safe and reliable equipment operation meeting customer needs as well as the needs of the business.
Essential Responsibilities

The Product Service Controls Engineer will lead the execution of projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business and is a recognized expert in a specialized field. In this role, you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise and contribute to the overall business strategy.
In addition, you will:

Own the technical resolution to multiple complex Control System issues including Mark* Panels & HMI
Act as a conduit and proactively facilitate cross functional collaboration between engineering teams, design teams, commercial teams, manufacturing and suppliers to develop and implement technical solutions to meet customer needs
Provide leadership in coordinating and presenting at technical conferences and other customer facing events
Lead cross-functional teams in execution of Root Cause Analysis of GE equipment non-conformances
Lead cross-functional teams in Big-Y initiatives improving starting reliability, availability and trip reduction
Provide technical support for new unit installation / startup and other outage work scopes providing PAC support for critical issues
Author internal and external communications (TILS, ETC, customer presentations, etc.) to provide guidance on major issue resolution
Communicate fleet and product issues into the NPI process to identify new opportunities and drive development of effective offerings
Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Electronics OR Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience working with GE turbine control systems

Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, as required
Desired Characteristics

Familiarity with GE control systems for heavy duty gas turbines, aero derivatives, steam turbines system
Self-starter with initiative and interpersonal skills to direct projects and work, of cross- functional nature, with demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion
Ability to work well with teams and communicate requests and requirements clearly
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Understands business objectives and drives specific tasks required to meet the objectives
Displays good interpersonal skills; is accessible and approachable
Anticipates customer needs and ensures that they are met
Measures processes and performance through the customer's eyes
Communicates messages clearly and concisely
