Role Summary/Purpose
The Electronics Assembler will be responsible for installing electrical wiring in control cabinets, electrical and industrial equipment and related industrial apparatus, according to blueprints and wiring diagrams by performing the following duties.
Essential Responsibilities
As the Electronics Assembler, you will:
· Read and lay out diagrams for electrical installations according to wiring specification
· Mount serial plates, CT plates, warning and caution tags, and identification tags
· Cut, strip, bend, and form wire cable, conduit pope, and tubing used to connect circuits and sub-assemblies
· Shrink labels for all wires
· Connect color-coded wires, according to CT drawing specifications
· Solder connections and crimp connectors to wire ends
· Test and adjust electrical assemblies
· Discuss errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems
· Perform assembly functions in accordance with Quality Control Procedures to ensure the output will meet Quality Control and customer standards, follow ISO 9000 procedures
· Inspect own work to ensure that each breaker is properly wired, vacuumed and ready for installation. Maintain accurate labor, time, and production records
· Clean work area at the end of the shift. Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
· High School Diploma / GED
· Minimum of 1 year Assembly experience or related Vocational Technical Training
Desired Characteristics
· Associate's Degree in a technical discipline
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
· Ability to read and interpret blue prints, electrical and mechanical prints
· Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to wire assembly
· Ability to apply knowledge of electricity and AC / DC voltage
