Role Summary/Purpose

The Assembler position will be mainly responsible for the assembling of electronic, mechanical and pneumatic operations.

We presently have some openings on the second shift, working 2:18 PM to 10:18 PM.

Essential Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

·  Perform electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic or similarly related repetitive to nonrepetitive production assembly operations related to soldering, sub-assemblies, and basic, mid-level, and / or final assemblies

·  Perform assembly operations using established procedures, work instructions, schematics and / or other approved documentation

·  Test product in a laboratory environment

·  Analyze / troubleshoot product issues to determine root cause and corrective action

·  The individual will have the responsibility and authority to carry out all assigned tasks

·  May be required to work with hazardous materials

·  Other responsibilities as assigned

·  This position may be required to perform safety sensitive work in the future, and would be subject at that time to random drug and alcohol testing under Federal Aviation Administration regulations. GE Aviation, Loves Park has a zero-tolerance policy.

·  This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Qualifications/Requirements

·  High School Diploma / GED

·  IPC-A-610 solder certified

·  Operator certification, level 2

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

·  Ability and willingness to work second shift

·  Ability and willingness to work with hazardous materials


·  Ability and willingness to work frequent overtime as required

·  Ability and willingness to lift / move material up to 25 pounds

·  Basic knowledge of G,D, & T (identify symbols)

Desired Characteristics

·  Proficient in the use of a personal computer to navigate on-line documents, drawings, and instructions

·  Working toward a 2-year degree in electronics

·  Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and / or engage appropriate support staff

·  Minimum of 1 year aerospace industry or similar manufacturing experience

·  Ability and willingness to train other level operators and to stamp off on associate level soldering

·  Ability and willingness to use, train others on use, and set up of electrical / mechanical measurement tools while using test equipment without assistance

·  Understanding of the function of schematics in their entirety for aid in troubleshooting components and / or systems in pertinent area

·  Advanced knowledge of operator plans (i.e., test procedures, collaborate with others to make changes or corrections, assist IE on additions, deletions, etc. to plans)

·  Full understanding of / ability and willingness to use and maintain the required assembly hand tools

·  Ability and willingness to recognize and diagnose problems in a timely manner

·  Ability and willingness to set-up and operate all assembly equipment as required

·  Ability and willingness to proactively mediate / facilitate team discussions

·  Ability and willingness to visually recognize problems and resolve in a timely manner

·  Prior experience working in a team oriented environment

·  Conscientious regarding safety and quality of workmanship

·  Collaboratively approaches other team members regarding internal conflict, disagreements, or technical issues or questions

·  Acknowledges and supports team decisions

·  Actively participates in team meetings and events
