Role Summary/Purpose

In the role of Electrical Test Technician you will:
Essential Responsibilities

·  Test Control System to Engineering and Customer specifications

·  Troubleshoot Modules, Devices and/or Software functionality

·  Perform tests on Modules, Devices and/or Software functionality

·  Setup test stand and manipulate the software to work with the control

·  Perform tests on Modules, devices and/or system consisting of various control types according to engineering documentation and knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles

·  Create appropriate documentation when needed

·  Interact with internal and external customers as needed

·  Assist the engineering department as needed to ensure systems are tested and shipped as scheduled

·  Accept independent responsibility for compliance to Environment, Health and Safety

·  Flow back and forth between projects while maintaining departmental quality standards

·  Quality control inspection of work and products during testing and completion of test

·  Read, understands, and follows detailed drawings, schematics, assembly drawings, customer specifications and test procedures

·  Provide support and backup of other supply chain personnel, be involved in establishing and achieving team goals while respecting the feelings, needs and varying viewpoints of others

·  Document and communicate by using a computer

·  Interface daily with internal customers to meet business objectives and external customer requirements

·  Develop and improve testing processes, written procedures and checklists

·  Required to follow all department policies and procedures
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Associate degree from an accredited college or university (OR High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution with minimum 3 years of experience with control products)

·  Minimum 1 year of experience in electrical assembly and/or electrical test

Eligibility Requirements:

·  Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required

·  Travel both internationally and domestically up to 10%

·  Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities

·  Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required

·  Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

·  Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time

·  Use hand and power tools for test set-ups of controls and computers for HMI‘s
Desired Characteristics

·  Minimum 3 years of experience with GE Control Solutions products

·  Experience using / reading technical drawings, schematics

·  Good manual dexterity; to work with hand tools, test equipment and computers

·  Communication. Effectively giving and receives information verbal and written in English for a variety of circumstances

·  Minimum 2 years of experience in testing electrical control systems

·  Basic knowledge of Prime Mover theory of operation

·  Basic knowledge of electrical / electronic theory

·  Basic knowledge and theory of hydraulic, pneumatic systems and mechanical principles

·  Basic knowledge of high-pressure gas/hydraulic systems and/or electromagnetic and/or prime mover theory of operation

·  Basic knowledge of PLC programing

·  Ability to apply systematic problem solving techniques

·  Ability to read and understand basic types of documentation

·  Ability to learn and be proficient at various software packages

·  Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills

·  Flexible. Effective under changing conditions and with different tasks, responsibilities and people

·  Dependable. Sets high goals for attendance and on-time performance for self and team members

·  Requires one to be self-motivated in learning and development of their skills

·  Attention to detail. Ensures accuracy of tasks and processes to maintain consistent quality of outputs.

·  Good computer skills, keyboarding / data entry knowledge.

·  Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
