Role Summary/Purpose
Work on hardware projects for the Imaging Intelligent Workflow platform, improving the technology and workflow of our products. Act cross-functionally with Imaging product teams as well as strategic suppliers, with considerable design and project responsibilities covering all NPI lifecycle phases. Incorporate trends in technology to create user control devices that are durable, high quality, and easy to use.
Essential Responsibilities
Devices include operator panels, scan control, intercom, and video- and voice-based workflow. Initiative, energy, technical and organizational skills necessary to successfully deliver platform solutions to multiple businesses with varying product requirements.
• Contribute to medium-to-large size design projects from requirements definition to product phase-in, working with strategic suppliers and modality engineers.
• Develop an electrical architecture platform for the user interface controls across Imaging products
• Incorporate trends in technology to create durable, high quality, and easy to use control devices.
• Develop effective test strategies to ascertain high quality deliverables
• Usability testing and gathering of customer feedback (internal and external)
• Contribute to technology partnerships with strategic suppliers of UIF devices, including computers, tablets, touch panels, AIOs, video, audio, wireless and other such platforms and devices
• Work on multi-generational technology strategies
• Communicate technology strategy in a simple, understandable manner.
• Be a technology advocate in business and customer interactions.
Qualifications/Requirements
1. BS in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
2. Experience with electrical design engineering
3. Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills
4. Contributes to an open environment in which others can share ideas.
5. Self-starter with strong initiative
Desired Characteristics
1. 3+ years of experience
2.. Working knowledge of GEHC design tools and processes.
3. Familiarity with FDA government regulated design practices.
4. Familiarity with audio and video technologies
5. Ability to recruit/assemble diverse opinion leaders to influence and shape business and technology decisions.
6. Experience with global work
7. Awareness of UIF technologies industry trends
8. Experience with working with suppliers on technology projects
9. Awareness of UIF technologies industry trends
10. Must be able to work effectively in a global cross-functional team environment
